I woke up this morning and my asthma wasn't on it's best behavior and giving me a little grief. The run didn't start till 1pm which is later then I like to normally run and I don't like to run on a full stomach either.
So we get to the place and get our stuff... here we go we are off. OK not so bad I ran the 1st kilometer in 4min 26sec... after my app told me that I thought ok slooooow down chicky or I won't make it to the end. We carry on and walk/run our way along while my on buddy Cindy stuck with me this whole time keeping her nice constant pace. Now I did a bad thing and forgot to pack water with me but I also thought they were going to have a water station (they didn't). So towards the end I was getting really dehydrated and feeling gross but not wanting to give up I kept going... slower but I was still going.
Well I finished it... ended up going 11.29km in 1hr 29min 24sec... yes a huge feat!!! I can't walk and felt like crap afterwards but it was for a great cause and I would do it again... but next time with water! lol
I am a single mom with one son that has been living with asthma since I was 2yrs old. I also almost died three times due to severe asthma attacks! I don't let my asthma stop me from accomplishing new goals and living life to the fullest.
