So I actually finished the race.... I can't walk very good today as I really went hard at the very end of the race to finish with a faster time. I didn't even come in dead last, I didn't trip over my feet, I ran the 1st 2km without stopping (ok that was the adrenalin which was awesome), I did have a few cramps in the middle and I remembered when training with my buddies that Fay always said look for the potato rock and you are almost done. You know it worked.. I saw that rock and just kept going until I saw Cindy and Kerry cheering me on before the big finish. I ran so hard down that hill that Cindy couldn't keep up to me and I finished strong!! I was shocked and excited that I actually just did that and I am still walking and breathing!!! Lungs didn't crap out on me!! Yeah!! Then I was so emotional I ended up crying happy tears!!
I couldn't have done it all without the support of my family, my parents and of course my running buddies helping me along the way. Here are my stats: I place 7 out of 15 in my age category, My pace was 7.06 per km, My run time was 35.33 and I placed in the top half for women!
