I have some big plans and dreams for 2014 but I need to finish this year up first and it's going to be a busy one. Since I last wrote I have been busy enjoying life and experiencing new things and love the people I spend my time with.
I also have started my schooling to become a Certified Personal Trainer as I have always wanted to help others but also I would really like to become certified in Kick Boxing and being able to add that aspect into training as I enjoy parts of it and it helps with stress relief... we all know I've had my fair share of it this past year as well as many other friends of mine. I've taken the online course and in class course and now I am trying to study so I can write my 3 hr exam on December 4th. If I pass that then I can go on and complete my practical portion and pass that and then I am finally certified. YEAH! On top of all that I have a busy social calendar which I am enjoying a lot but also just signed up to start a 6 month Triathlon training series with 4 others including my new boyfriend.. he's done a few tri's and I am such a rookie. I am nervous about it with my asthma but at the same time I am excited to have 3 coaches to help me improve my skills, pace and endurance in cycling, swimming and running. I get one on one training once a month by each coach and training plans given to me to workout with on my own schedule. This will help me get to the big Triathlon that I want to do on Sept. 6th 2014 and compete in the Olympic distance in Banff. Plus I want to do a smaller one first to so I can prepare better and know the process of the whole thing. Yes I have so many dreams and goals!! I have 3 confirmed races for 2014 already signed up and a few others on the horizon that I need to register for. By the looks of my schedule I will compete in about 10 races for the year. Doing a few obstacle mud runs, color run, snowshoe run, a few half marathons and a couple of triathlons... a busy year but an exciting year to look forward to. I love training, pushing my limits and pushing my lungs to see how far and how fast I can complete the races. I also have an amazing support system that have helped me thru this so much and I am truly thankful for having them in my life... they knock some sense into my head, they are not afraid to tell me to get my head out of my butt and they are so encouraging & loving! ♥ you guys!!! When my Doctor finds out about my plans he may not be overly happy with me and do his usual you need to be careful and that he would prefer I didn't do them speech but really what fun is that??? I've had asthma my whole life and yes I almost died twice but that was a long time ago. I know how to manage my asthma and I know when I feel badly I know I need to stop... I am in tune with my body and know how to listen to it so I don't end up in emerg during a race and I always carry my inhaler where ever I go. They really need to make a way to make this inhaler thing easier to carry during races... obstacle races it goes between the boobs and isn't so comfy and other times its in a pocket on my butt and I look like I've got a growth back there and it makes it challenging to get out and put back while running... I can just imagine what I look like while grabbing it out of both places. lol So that's where I am at these days... busy but enjoying the ride. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger!! I know that all to well! Oh and I have joined a challenge too and have completed Day 11 for 30 burpees for 30 days... yes I am sick and love burpees. I do really like burpee pull-ups better but these regular ones will do. My son is even doing them with me... pretty proud of him! Well I gotta get back to studying (Yes Mike I really am).... until next time!! :)
